The fourth annual collaboration between The Shoe Polytechnic, Parsons School of Fashion and Iris Shoes, provides Undergraduate/BFA Fashion Design Seniors the opportunity to design and prototype footwear as a pivotal component of Thesis work.
Beginning with 75 concept-based student submissions, eight BFA Fashion Design Seniors were selected to see their shoe designs come to fruition through collaboration with students of The Shoe Polytechnic. Continuous project oversight is provided by Giuseppe Baiardo, President of Acrib, Marcellino Doni, President of the Shoe Polytechnic and School of Fashion faculty.
This partnership celebrates rich collaboration between participants from both schools and produces highly innovative outcomes.
Congratulations to the following students, who picked up their final produced shoes in mid-April: Carla Ilhye Yoo, Connie De La Cruz, Jung Ryun Lee, Minjung Kang, Sooyeon Park, Sophia Suh, Taimei Huang and Tegan Power. Shoes will be shown on the runway, and on display at the Parsons Benefit 2013, Wednesday, May 22, 2013.
Our amazing retail partner, Iris NYC in the Meatpacking District, will be supporting the project by displaying shoes in their boutique during the FFANY-Fashion Footwear Association of New York week, in early June. To learn more, Fan our project Facebook page, The Shoe Polytechnic.
