This project offers BFA Juniors the opportunity to Re:invision the iconic white shirt. On September, 17th, 2009, CEO Mark Mendelson gave a presentation to students outlining the Ellen Tracy customer. Over 85 students submitted sketches for consideration working with fabric swatches supplied by Ellen Tracy. Suzan Heo, Gousche Kim, Carol Lee, Hae-Won Lee and Yue Ming (Annie) Yang were selected to have their shirts sampled and work with the Ellen Tracy Design team on the production process. The Grand prize-winner receives $5,000 and has their shirt produced and added to the Ellen Tracy line. The second place winner receives $2,000 and three runners up each receive $1,000. All five winning shirts will be unveiled in Macy’s windows in late spring, launching the national distribution of the cobranded Ellen Tracy/Parsons shirts.
