Recycled Runway: Parsons Fashion Takes the Stage at the Green Festival

Saturday, Apr 20 | 10:00 am–6:00 pm at Javits Convention Center North, 655 W. 34th Street

Student designers from Parsons’ Fashion student organization Recycled Runway take pre-existing items bound for landfill and refashion them into clothing. By doing this, the usefulness of the discarded item is extended, and the question is raised: What is trash? Recycled Runway’s goal is to make people question their relationship with waste and the things they interact with everyday, like clothing.

This Saturday, Recycled Runway will take center stage at the annual Green Festival at Javits Center North with a runway show that features responsible fashion. One of the largest Earth Day festivals, the Green Festival will feature an organic, vegetarian, and vegan food court; the Sierra Club Green Cinema; eco-fashion exhibits; live music; an organic beer and wine garden; and inspiring keynote presentations.
