Are you a Parsons student passionate about design, with a willingness to have your ideas viewed by top industry professionals? Joe’s Blackbook is conducting a competition for college juniors at top U.S design schools interested in fashion design. A $10,000 scholarship toward senior year tuition will be awarded to the winning menswear and womenswear candidates.
Designers and employers from leading industry companies will judge the submissions in a two-stage process. Based on their creativity, originality, presentation, and strength of concept, the six candidates selected in the final round will earn an all-expense paid trip to New York City (NYC students win the hotel and other activities) to present their projects to a panel of judges. In previous competitions, Joe’s Blackbook Scholarship finalists were able to present their work to head designers of Vena Cava, Unis, Shipley & Halmos, Siki Im, and Madewell.
Be certain to review the scholarship video from the 2011 competition.
