On behalf of the School of Fashion, with tremendous joy, congratulations to Florencia Chaves, 2012 Joe’s Blackbook Womenswear $10,000 Scholarship Award winner and Yun Xiang Zhou, 2012 $10,000 Menswear Scholarship Award winner!
Florencia and Yun Xiang proudly have achieved these well deserved awards through design excellence in their submissions and by demonstrating impactful professional practice during the in person presentation of their work. The merit of their accomplishments in winning both of these scholarships is profound with enduring reward.
Now in it’s second year, Joe’s Blackbook Design Competition celebrates emerging talent through the award of one $10,000 scholarship each to an outstanding Junior level Undergraduate Womenswear and Menswear portfolio. The competition engages students from select fashion programs nationally to compete through submission of a self-directed portfolio based collection with emphasis on design identity and individual philosophy and is unique in that the finalists present their work in person to a panel of industry experts.
Thank you Florencia and Yun Xiang for representing Parsons School of Fashion at Joe’s Blackbook and congratulations again on your prestigious victories as the Joe’s Black Book Scholars of 2012!
