New York based MADE and Italian based Peroni Nastro Azzuro, partner to provide a robust opportunity to recent graduates/ alumni of the School of Fashion (SoF) positioned to launch their own collections. MADE for Peroni Young Designer Awards (MFPYDA) is a high-level fashion design award opportunity open exclusively to select Parsons SoF graduates/ alumni in the areas of Womenswear and Menswear (BFA Fashion Design and MFA Fashion Design and Society programs). Parsons SoF will nominate a minimum of 10 emerging design alumni to participate in (MFPYDA) as inaugural candidates to receive the MADE for Peroni Young Designer Award *(MFPYDA). The MFPYDA winner will receive funding, production support and personal mentoring to create a F/W collection by Peroni Nastro Azzurro, one of Italy’s premier style brands and a global advocate of emerging and established design talent. The winner will also receive substantial funding to launch their inaugural collection during a presentation at MADE Fashion Week in February, 2013.

The MFPYDA winner will be handpicked by an esteemed panel of judges who are some of the world’s leading voices in fashion and design, chaired by Peroni Nastro Azzurro’s long-standing style ambassador and renowned fashion designer Antonio Berardi. The winner will be selected based on a proposed design concept for one Spring/Summer 2013 look, with a view to creating a full Fall/Winter 2013 collection to be shown at MADE in February 2013.
All participants in the MFPYDA program will receive meaningful exposure to media and key influencers in the fashion trade. The winner will also enjoy the accolades of the esteemed judging panel at an awards announcement at MADE Fashion Week September 2012.
