Hessnatur – Humanity in Fashion Award 2013

We’ll post a reminder when the applications for 2013 open in a few weeks in April. In the meanwhile, all and any sustainability-minded students, this is something to keep an eye out on: the Hessnature – Humanity in Fashion Award 2013. The Humanity in Fashion Award is the design prize for green fashion. It recognizes young and rising designers for creating clothes designed on the basis of sustainability. The winner receives an award of 25,000 euros and an exclusive contract to create a women’s capsule collection for hessnatur, Germany’s largest natural clothing brand. The Humanity in Fashion Award creates greater visibility for ecological and fair clothing as well as proving that a choice doesn’t have to be made between trend-driven fashion and sustainable fashion. It gives start-up aid to young and rising designers of sustainable clothing, and provides fresh momentum for a natural clothing culture. The Humanity in Fashion Award will be presented once-a-year as part of a public event during Berlin fashion Week.
