American Batik Design Competition

To celebrate the new US-Indonesia Partnership, Indonesia’s Ambassador to the United States, Dr. Dino Patti Djalal, has launched a nation-wide competition to design ‘American batik’. This project is a challenge to US-based designers to craft batik designs with a distinct American style – hence the theme “The spirit of America in the heritage of batik”. A joint panel of American and Indonesian artists will select three best batik designs. Will your design be among them? Entry deadline:  AUGUST 1st, 2011.
