How do Parsons students get those coveted internships, at the world’s top fashion houses? Kering (formerly PPR) has partnered with Style.com, Barneys NY and the School of Fashion at Parsons, in our second annual Empowering Imagination competition. Graduating Seniors, in the BFA Fashion Design program, were urged to apply through the School, and the top 14 have been chosen as finalists.
Please join us in congratulating the 14 finalists, whose names will be revealed daily!

How can you learn more? From May 2 – May 15, visit
Style.com as each student is profiled daily. Visit
Barneys New York as students work will be on display in the store (date TBD). On the Style.com,
“Empowering Imagination” page, each student is interviewed, about their backgrounds, inspiration for the competition and their design work. Be sure to click through all of the students daily, to view images of their collection and get inspired from the new talent emerging from our school.
After May 15, the Top Two will be selected for paid Internships at a Kering company, this summer in the categories of Luxury and Lifestyle Sport. A panel of fashion insiders, which includes Eco Age’s Livia Firth, Style.com’s Dirk Standen, Barney’s New York’s Dennis Freedman, Kering’s Laurent Claquin, Paper Magazine’s Mickey Boardman, and Parsons’ Simon Collins, will meet to judge the work and choose the two winners.
We are proud to partner with Kering, Style.com, and Barneys New York for this unique design challenge. We look forward to watching the development of all of these designers in the coming years.
Visit the site daily, and keep an eye on this space for more competition announcements.
