Handbag Designer 101 invites you to compete in the 8th Annual Independent Handbag Designer Awards, the only handbag competition of its kind in the world. This is your opportunity to submit your handbag and compete for one of seven awards in handbag excellence, international recognition and a variety of coveted prizes at the awards ceremony held in New York City.
To participate in the open call, you are required to upload one digital jpeg image any one or more of the following categories:

The Best Handbag in Overall Style & Design – Winner will receive a booth at WWDMAGIC and the opportunity to have their line carried at Bloomingdale’s.
The Optitex Best Student Made Handbag – Winning will garner the opportunity to become an Optitex Brand Ambassador to demonstrate 3D technology throughout Optitex major global customers together with full Optitex 2D & 3D package (worth $20,000) and an iPad mini with the new Optitex Fast Sample application.
The BERNINA Best Handmade Handbag – Winner will receive the BERNINA 560 sewing machine (with a retail value of $5,000.) In addition, winners will have the prestigious opportunity to be an Ambassador for BERNINA in creating blogs and projects for BERNINA social media and We All Sew Blog.
The Timberland Best Green Handbag – Winner will receive the chance to have their product for sale in the Timberland stores.
The FEED Most Socially Responsible Handbag – Winner will receive a feature with on FEEDprojects.com
The Audience Fan Favorite Handbag – Based on Finalists Selected hosted by InStyle.com.

Distinctly Denim by Guess Handbags – Winner will garner an amazing opportunity to have their bag sold on Guess.com, work alongside our handbag designer based in Florence, Italy as well as receive a feature in the September issue of InStyle. We are partnering with the Guess Foundation to donate a portion of the proceeds of the winning bag to the social service agency Peace Over Violence. Its mantra: Make a social statement with your fashion statement. And wear denim for a purpose.
