Experience the beauty and excellence of traditional Korean Natural Dye Arts at the New York Korean Fashion Festival on Saturday, March 3, 2012 from 5-10pm. Hosted by the Korean Apparel Manufacturers Association of Greater New York (KAMA) along with the Natural Dye Arts Group from Korea, the fashion festival is sure to be nothing less than spectacular!
The Fashion Festival held at Daedong Manor in Flushing, New York will begin with a Natural Dye Art Exhibition held in the Diamond Hall featuring 34 artisans and designers who craft traditional Korean dyed fabric. Following the exhibition is the Fashion Festival program showcasing four fashion shows in the Grand Hall! The fashion shows will feature:
1. Korea’s traditional costume in the “Hanbok Fashion Show.”
2. Korea’s Natural Dye Artisans will also present their fashions.
3. We are also presenting PROJECT KAMA’s fashion show – made up of four fabulous award-winning designers and graduates of Parsons and F.I.T.
4. Lastly, KAMA will continue its tradition of holding a student fashion competition for KASA (Korean Apparel Student Association) where ten students will showcase their designs in hopes of winning a $15,000 scholarship.
