Benjamin Dimock - Technician, Wood/Metal

As an artist and educator, Benjamin Dimock has worked in various fabrication and instructional
contexts after receiving a BFA from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. He has taught
Metal Working and Forging at The Chicago Industrial Arts and Design Center, led youth in the
production of a large scale public sculpture with The Beam Center based in Brooklyn, and
constructed supports and armatures for displaying scientific and anthropological artifacts at The
Field Museum of Natural History Chicago. Approaching technique and process as both
conceptual and physical challenges is central to his educational work and studio practice.
