Remote Help Desk

For new or returning students interested in project planning and/or design implementation, we offer our E4 Virtual Open Hours to address any questions, concerns, and advice for projects/general E4 Access.

Note: Calendar only works for those with an active New School account.

Technician Consultation

Speak with one of the E4 Technicians, who assist students with their projects and guide them towards the best Lab, Shop, and/or Studio to accomplish their goals. Students must come prepared with initial drawings, dimensions, and material list.

Reservation / Use Protocol

All authorized students intending to use shop resources MUST make shop reservations on getspace.newschool.edu in the relevant area.

The Technician Consultation Appointment Calendar will appear once you complete your reservation in LibCal.

  1. Fill out the brief campus access survey. This will help you to select your building, and ensure that you are tested.
  2. Make a Technician Consultation.
  3. Request a seat at least 48 hours in advance of coming to campus. After scheduling a technician consultation (or sometimes even during one), request a seat via getspace.newschool.edu in the relevant area.

In the event that you need to cancel or change your booking, (barring emergency) please do so at least 48 hours prior to your current booking to allow other students utilize the time slot. Failure to do so can result in you losing your booking access for the week. Please reach out if you have any questions.

At this time we are not accepting outside material. Material can be purchased from the E4 Material Store. Please confirm your purchase with the technician during your virtual consultation.
