Henry Portillo - Technician, General Media Resources
Henry Portillo is a printmaker and 2D animator born and educated in the Bronx, NY. He enjoys demystifying printmaking processes and assisting developing artists whenever he can. He is currently working on a mythological narrative with his pantheon of “Gawds,” a family of flawed yet vulnerable deities of color. Part self-portraiture, their journey as they endure an existential crisis that plagues so many of us, their embrace of vices to suppress these emotions and ultimately, their ability to adapt and persevere together is key in his work.
Henry has earned a B.A and M.F.A. in Printmaking in Lehman College, and currently manages a print shop in The Gowanus Studio Space. His work can be viewed here: http://www.henryportillo.com/
