Many Making Center spaces are open, with adjusted availability. At this time, general campus access is available to all Parsons students regardless of program or year level. All students — regardless of their vaccination status — are required to take a PCR COVID-19 test within 7 days prior to visiting campus for the first time this summer. Given distancing requirements, students are limited to one building for reserving space, and orientations for the Summer 2021 semester will be offered on a very limited basis. In most cases, students will retain their Spring 2020 authorization status.
Available Resources:
Orientations
As of February 2021, The Making Center is offering online orientations for limited lab, shop, and studio spaces. Students without prior authorization can now complete an online orientation.
On Campus Space / Equipment Use
Open work space in the Making Center is currently accessible for all Parsons students who have submitted the required testing. The use of most on-campus tools and equipment requires prior orientation or training.
Equipment Checkout (Contactless)
Equipment and tool checkouts are available for off-campus use for up to 7 days (with appropriate orientation and training). You may be required to complete an online consultation with a technician beforehand.
Submission-Based Project Pick-Up
For the 2020-21 academic year, students may submit work digitally to be produced for pick-up in select labs, shops, and studios. Services include printing, laser cutting, 3D printing, CNC, and more.
