Fashion Digital Studio Drawing Workshop Update

Sophomore design student Dasuel Kim

As a follow up to the Parsons Fashion Digital Studio drawing workshop a few weeks back, here are some examples of student work that were created based on the techniques taught, with a focus on Adobe Illustrator brushes and vectors as the medium. The design students quickly captured the gestural quality, emphasizing their personal drawing styles while using Illustrator’s Brushes. The emphasis was on varying line weight to express dimensional fashion figures rather than a static line that hinders movement and flow.

This is only just the beginning of using vectors for fashion design presentations, but already it highlights Adobe’s emphasis on Illustrator’s natural drawing capabilities.
